This is going to sound like an odd question and, in truth, there is probably no way a person could adequaely answer it. Anyway, there is one part of the book in which Holden complains about one of his roommates clipping his toenails all over the place. Holden doesn't like this because it means that he steps on the guy's toenails in his bare feet. So....personally, I wouldn't even notice stepping on a person's toenails since my feet are pretty tough. Not sensitive at all...not even slightly ticklish. which brings me to my next point (if there is even a point)....if Holden Caulfield were real it would mean that he didn't have particularly tough feet. Which makes sense since he was an upper cl kid in NYC and had no reason to go around barefoot. There are many things that you can do. Some people will just leave it out in a container on the counter. It takes a while before it is susceptible to viruses. For something a bit quicker, place the chicken in a deep container and fill with room temp. water. Leave out and it should take about 2 hours at the most to defrost completely. You could even take it out of the packaging to speed up the process a bit. Good luck.

04 silverado 1500 MPG pain?

wondering if anyone out there with automotive experience would have any suggestions on things that i can do to increase my MPG. i keep the air filter clean. do things like sea foam and other additives work? would getting the injectors cleaned or the fuel filter changed(would do it myself but its in the tank), new plugs, things of that nature be worth the money spent? im realistic on what i can get out of a 4 year old V8 but i know i can better the 13mpg its getting now.

Ohio Law concerning ault?

The woman in front of me was an elderly lady buying some hot dog buns. She stepped up to the counter and realized that she had forgotten her purse somewhere. They were only a $1.39, so I offered to buy them for her. Then that beggar came yelling behind me, "Oh, so you ain't got no money when a brotha ask, but when its a white person, it's okay?" I was shocked, and I just quickly shook my head and asked, "What?" Then, he got in my face and said, "You heard me fool. I oughta just 'eff' you up right now, sup then, *****?" I was scared, my adrenaline started pumping, and I punched him in the face. Some guy pushed me back and another guy grabbed him and the clerk called the police. I have a summons to appear in court in two weeks and that idiot was yelling about suing me. I felt threatened, but he never touched me. Still, I felt like he was going to attack me, so I did what I felt was best for myself. This is already a completely unbelievable situation! Is it likely that it will get worse, and I could go to jail over this? I did bust the guys nose, if he ever sued, how likely is it that he would be found in favor? All I was doing is prepaying for gas and helping a forgetful old lady. I didn't ask for any of this, I just did what I needed to do to protect myself. What course of action do you have when your workplace doesn't pay you what they owe you?

I'm a courier and they are $135 short on my paycheck. Their excuse is that they are giving fuel charge money back to the customers in order to stay more competitive. However, no notice was given that they were going to do this. The contract states that I'm not entitled to any portion of the amount they charge the customer. The amount indicated on the pager that I've always been paid happens to be 50% but there is no mention that that price is in fact having anything to do with what they charge the customer. Why would a woman do this?

I've known a girl for a long time now. She is divorced, and she seems willing to sit alone in an apartment never to get her feelings hurt again. She never wants her trust violated again. She said it was violated. The source of her divorce was due to her husband looking at adult personals sites (technically) which devastated her. But she has told me she never understood what she saw in the man. She divorced him for being the "biggest mistake of her life," as she puts it, after she is the one responsible for starting their dating, which lasted for about 12 years prior to their marriage. She got divorced and was telling me she was ready to spend the rest of her life with another "friend" within 9 months of her divorce. To her I am her closest friend, which really is confusing. I told her I liked her, and she said she did too while looking at the floor. Soon after I got a little pissy with her because she railroaded some plans of ours for this other "friend" she wants to marry. She said I devastated her. I mean she started crying and ran away because I got a little tonal with some cranky wrinkles in my forehead, no yelling, no pointing, no swearing. She is in her later thirties for Pete's sake. Is she confused? What does friend mean? Does she like me? It's so damn confusing because she will not respond to anything in detail and with specifics. I've basically insulted her on purpose sometimes, and she completely ignores it. I mean it makes me feel like someone does not care at all if they NEVER get defensive or argumentative, upset, or something with you. What is the deal? I feel like a source of meaningless entertainment to this girl, but I don't want to totally put her out in case I am her closest friend. I got her mad one time though, and she came down stairs angry with all this make up on and tight jeans on like it was some kind of break up. And the whole time she told me I was just a friend anyway, and that she meant she liked me in the way like a friend who is a guy but "like one of the girls." How confusing. I just care way too much I think sometimes. I don't know. If she really is not mentally well (full respect towards anyone with real problems of course) I don't want to hurt her in anyway (she takes meds for anxiety). I cam home to find her head in the litter laying in the middle of the cage. of course i opened the cage and went to pick her up.. no movement at all and her eyes were closed shut. i held her for about 20 minutes and she was starting to move her whiskers and when i fliped her over he slowly started to move her feet. i then gave her a yoggie (a hamster treat) and she started to nibble but with very little movement and her eyes were still shut. i gave her water and she then slowly opened her mouth and licked it about 9 times ad then just layed there. i called up a friend panicked and she told me to put her in a dark corner with food and water and hope for the best. i did so and coming back in two hours later she was starting to slit her eyes open and she started to walk around but VERY slowly and she was shaking/wobbling when she did so. i had her in there overnight and amazingly she looks normal but is shaking occasionaly and next to her front legs/mouth there are noticeable lumps. help

he needs a diet better than just romaine lettuce, you can find some good diets on google. he will also need uv lighting and calcium, you can find many rich calcium foods on google or he will suffer from metabolic bone disease, this is pretty easy to spot just by looking. He will look like popeye, you know the big biceps then a thin leg....you get the idea I'm sure. Also he needs an enclosure bigger and safer then rubbermaid, they like to be up high so height is an important factor when consideing a cage. You don't say how big or how old he is so I cannot say what size he would need, but an adult can get huge so an enclosure to accomodate an adult size would be best. he will also need a basking light, NOT a heat rock, the heat will help his food to digest. It should cover a small area of his home so when he gets to hot he has a cooler area to move to.

Hey there; I have a 1989 Ford Thunderbird with a 3.8L V-6 engine, My grandfather gave me the care in Pristene condition (Mint) with only 24,500 Miles. We'll now that i've had the car for about 5-6-7 years, its got about 49,300 Miles now, but the issue im mostly concerned about is #1 when going up hills at a Low RPM it Pings not Severly, but its there and its been doing it/started about a 1-1/2 Week(s) ago and i've heard i could change my EGR valve and if that doesnt help then i'll try and remove my Catalitic converters because i've already got dual exhausts set up and removing the Cats will cut down on restrition (Back-Pressure) which they say is another cause to engine pinging. and also the pinging only happens when its hot outside (Afternoon). #2 while ive got my A/C running the Temp gauge runs up a little high, but whenever i turn it off the gauge drops back down, and also while driving the gauge gets a little high but whenever i slow down and let the car coast the gauge also drops down.

To me running a business out of your home is like cutting hair & charging a fee, or animal boarding or babysitting for $. Can they really come after me for this? Needless to say that you can use your home for rental purposes if you decide to leave the property, so what the heck difference should that make if I am living here with them or away somewhere and renting the place....Also, I am very aware there are others in this neighborhood who are doing the exact same thing to make it. The needle for the gear shifter on a 1996 Blazer.?

I'm thinking about buying this 1996 Blazer and the only problem with it is when you go to shift the gears from lets say park to drive the orange needle doesn't move correctly it shows its in neutral for 3 clicks I believe then it will go to overdrive. The needle will never go over park or reverse. This isn't much of a problem because i can just count the clicks to know what I'm on, but i would really like to have it fixed. DDD is not a disease but part of the aging process. It just means that the discs between the vertebrae are shrinking. Everyone goes through this, some never have any pain, other have pain, but narcotic pain killers are a wee bit over the top for this aging process. Unless every human over the age of 30 is on narcotics? The remedy, 'time'. At 60-65 the discs have fully dehydrated, shrunk and that is it. Best of Luck

realistically, if the man is saying that he can reconstruct your ankle, go for it;; the fusion is the next step that you actually have your leg but limited range of motion;; he WON'T take the leg off just cuz you request it cuz it's up to him to make sure you have the best care possible & it is not medically necessary for the leg to be amputated;; they also don't amputate above the ankle, it would be most of your calf IF a doc would even THINK about doing it (if you request it, the doc will most likley set you up with a psych consult rather than agree to your decision, truly);; almost like asking to amputate your arm if you broke your ulna;; if you find a fool to amputate, you run a high chance of this causing more problems than you even can determine @ this point;; one huge situation is just plain pain..get the reconstruction, if it doesn't work, then go for the fusion..but you've got a good percentage of getting your ankle back with the reconstruction..you just have to put the work in afterward...you'll be amazed @ what you can do when in a situation like this...just learn a lot & work like a son of a ***** to get this leg back into shape;; seriously, go for the reconstruction...I rehab people all day long & truly know this is the best way...the most freedom from this injury...good luck!! but look forward, there's still stuff out there for you to accomplish..just the perspective has changed a little...keep chin up!! you're gonna be ok!!!!

wow. this story is so far incredibly good. Are you sure you are an eighth grader? I only saw one misspelling and that was in the last paragraph when you said beings but meant begins. Your description and word choice give this narrative a very real feeling, almost like you are actually there in 1861. The only thing I would do differently is not say what the child is going to be because they had no way of knowing that back then. Also if this is half, you're going to have to make your story much longer if you want it to be as good as this piece of it.

Making a java base conversion program and i'd like some help?

Hello, I'm currently working on a java program wherein the user will input their chosen number, its current base, and the desired base output then program will of course convert it to that and output the number in its new base. I have it figured out for the most part but I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips or show me how to use base 16 since it involves letters. i was thinking about usin tokenizer to go through the string and replace all the letters with their numerical value then proceed to the conversion as normal but that seems impractical with double digit numbers. Also it currently only accepts numbers in the base 10 format, how would you recommend that i go about implementing the other bases as a choice for format. My current idea for this is have them input the number and its current base, convert that to base 10, then run it through the program properly, but again this seems very impractical and difficult to do. If anyone could show me an example program that does this or just give me some pointers I'd really appreciate it.

I had a similar situation. I called the court clerk's office for the district I was in and simply asked. I was able to resolve the warrant without having to go to jail. Oh, just because you have a warrant, doesn't necessarily mean it will come up if the police check. Some warrants are local and do not show up in a national wants/warrants check. My family I think has some anger issues so could I have inherited it? Here's some details okay from the time I was like 4 I would have temper tantrums and clear off, anything I could reach. Disk Brakes for a 1960 Chevy Apache.?

I'm 17 f, and I weight about 120 pounds, 5'0. I'm a bit chubby and have squishy thighs and have a stomach that plunges out...... I dont exersize at all. As far as your question is concerned. If od does go out, yes the rest of the gears should work. Just depending on what is going on in the transmission? I work on "gm" vehicles. And I had a 84 olds with over drive that went out of it and the other gears worked, but the longer I drove it the other driving gears begin to fail as well too much pressure on the other gears. Finally about 9 months later the reverse finally went out of it and I had to rebuild the trans.

Is my liver damaged at all from mixing hydrocodone and alcohol one time?

Hello, I am very concerned about my liver after a night of doing something reckless. I am a healthy 21 year old, 6'1, 200 pound male with no lasting medical problems of any sort. Im very healthy across the board, i dont do drugs, and im not a regular drinker. Going to go into greater detail about my problem. About five days a go I drank about 10 shots of 100 proof vodka throughout the day/night total and then 15 mins or so (probably a little longer than that though maybe a half hour even) later after my last shot late at night close to midnight I would say, I took 1 pill of hydrocodone 5MG/500MG (I have it prescribed for a broken nose) and then about an hour later after I took that pill I took two tylenol PM's to try and sleep. It is probably important to note that I only took the 1 hydrocodone all day, NOT more than one (and it was that low dose 5MG/500MG pill) and again that was about 15 mins or so after drinking my last shot of the day. I had NO hydrocodone or any pills at all the next day following this event. It may be important to note I did also eat a huge portion of nachos with nacho cheese after taking the two tylenol and drank a big thing of tea, so that may have sucked up some alcohol? Also right after I finished eating the nachos I went straight to sleep. I am not a regular drinker, I was just drinking that day/night for a random thrill out of boredom. And I have never ever mixed alcohol and drugs like this before, this was the first and last time. The next day myfriend told me I could have seriously damaged my liver. I have been concerned ever since that night about my liver. But like I said I have only done this one time and it was accidental because I was not thinking because I was intoxicated, and so far I think I am fine. I have not experienced any of the symptoms of liver damage over the past view days, I have been keeping close tabs on myself and doing appropriate research and so far I think I am fine, no concerns. I talked to a friend that is a 911 dispatcher, she has no real medical experience like a doc nurse though, but she said she thinks I am fine. But should I go see my doctor and get medical advise just in case? Am I in any immediate or long lasting danger? Thank you!

I am trying to make a query that shows the last and first names of all the professors in the database that were hired before a date entered from the keyboard. I know how to make a basic query, but not how to use the operators such as < or >. I have pulled the last_name, first_name and date_of_hire from the proper tables, and set a parameter [Enter Hire Date], but where do I go from here. I have looked for an example like this to guide me, but no luck. Is there a certain order that these need to go in the query? How to I apply the proper syntax to compare what is entered against the dates in my database? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think my dad is cheating on my mom? HELP!?

Okay so awhile back by dad started complaining about me and my brother arguing. Yes we argue but not ALL the time and it's only sibling bicker. He would always say things like 'I always have to come home to THIS!' or 'just SHUT UP! I don't want to hear you talk.' etc. At first it was just annoying but then eventually he started always being grumpy! He would always argues with my mom (he starts it over nothing), and would just not be fun to be around, REALLY unpleasant. Then he started coming home late calling and saying he had to work/his boss is making him to whatever. Blah Blah, at first i believed him but it's every night and i can tell he's lying about something. Then eventually he started coming home on time again but there still was something going on. I could tell. He just kinda walked around, didn't really talk much. Then after about a little less then a month of that he went away on a business trip to Ottawa. He was there for 3 weeks. When he came back he was SOOO happy and in a good mood it was unbelievable. I thought he was over whatever was going on and everything was back to normal. But then he still wasn't talking to my mom. He comes home late every night, and i mean EVERY NIGHT all happy and joyful when he HATES his job. He's been on so many 'business trips' lately it's crazy, and whenever me and my mom will go out somewhere we'll say i'm go to _____ be back in a little. We will get back and he'll be gone! He will say he's at the grocery store, etc, he's even now been saying he was shopping! HE HATES SHOPPING! i don't know what to do! I don't know if he's cheating or if he's doing drugs or what! It sounds crazy because my dad used to normal ... im so confused. What do you think?

Hey there! I'm a 15 year old student who is from Hong Kong. I am IN LOVE WITH HORSES, and I bought all sorts of horse pictures, postcards, statue, decorations and wat so ever. And near my home, there is a horse-riding club that i can join. My dad and mum has no offence, of course they are expecting me to get good marks in school even with so much activities( i have 1-2 activities every day... lol. I'm VERY BUSY everyday. Why are British football fans less expressive and colourful than Europeans?

Whenever I watch champions league games on tv, the European grounds are awash with colourful flags, huge banners, and twirling scarfes etc, all emblazoned with their team name and colours. Whether it's in France, Germany, Italy or Spain. But in England you hardly ever see the fans give such a display.The fans just all wear the replica shirts and that's it. The only exception is Liverpool where the kop for European cup games normally looks great too.(I'm not a Liverpool fan, I just like to watch good footie,so I'm no trying to point score here). Why can't English fans be more expressive like on the continent? It makes the atmosphere so much better, and as a spectacle it looks really great. I also think such a powerful visual display of support must give a great boost to the home team.

Is the wwe just using the fact that there are 3 brands, and the draft so they can recycle all their top talent. There havent been any new stars win the title since Posterboy Cena, and Batisteriod at WM21. During the Attitude Era, nearly every star that was in the title picture was newly brought into the title picture, Like Stone Cold, The Rock, Triple H, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho and Mick Foley. Only Taker and Big Show were previouse champions, and Taker never held the belt that long, and Big Show was a 1 time champ in WCW, so he was still pretty much new talent. Now its ridicilous. They need to stop giving guys like Ken Kennedy and Jeff Hardy itty bitty pushes and give them real pushes, and take out HHH from the title picture.
