Can anyone give any ideas as to what this means on an ultrasound report?
one can see a tiny echogenic focus in the left ventricle of the heart - the so called golf ball sign, on its own this sign has been discreditied and often overlooked in the essment of the risk of aneuploidy. There is however only two vessels in the umbilical cord abd a single umbilical artery. This is another risk factor for aneuploidy. These two signs should be correlated with risk factors estimated by age and nuchal transucency ysis. A normal foetal nasal bone is clearly illustrated in frame 10 of film 3 and this woulf tend to reduce the risk of aneuploidy.
