Are sins (in the Christian sense) dependent upon the intentions of the sinner?
Let me ask you this: how often do you get out of a speeding ticket when you tell the officer "But, I didn't know what the speed limit was"? It's never worked for me and I doubt it has worked in the majority of cases. So, no, sins are never dependent upon ignorance or intent. In fact, in the Old Law of Moses (Leviticus 4 among other places), the point is made that unintentional sins are still sin. So, again, intentions do not determine whether something is a sin or not. If it violates God's Law, it is sin and from which the sinner needs to repent (Acts 17:30-31).
